It is known that Philippines is one of the leading countries in the world that produces agricultural products such as coconut. The country is situated in the tropical region where there is abundance of the said crop.
Coconut is also considered as the tree of life where almost of its parts are of great use. Coconut trunks are commonly used for construction such as houses or bridges.
Coconut flower can be used as decoration at home. To some countries like India and Sri Lanka, coconut flowers are being partnered during special occasions such as wedding ceremonies and celebrations.
Coconut milk in the Philippines is often mixed to curry dish and other local menus. It is also used to produce the popular virgin coconut oil that serves for medicinal purposes.
Its leaves are also used in making brooms in countries like Philippines and India. The veins left after stripping off the green of the leaves are the end products and are tied together to make a broom. In other countries like Malaysia and India, coconut leaves are weaved to make baskets or mats.

Coconut water which fills the entire cavity of coconut fruit is known as refreshing drinks for tropical countries. Among athletes and sports people, coconut water is best as hydrating agent for its components that gives isotonic electrolyte balance and is considered as healthy and nutritious.
According to the wide studies of coconut water, it was discovered that it is a nutritious food source that contains fibers, proteins, sugar, vitamins specifically folate, niacin, thiamin, B6 and pantothenic acid and minerals like zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, chlorides and copper. It is also known antioxidants.
EXPORT COCONUT WATER
After coconut water has been proven to be a healthy drink, there are a lot of interests in making coconut water as sports drink is circulating the news today.
Indeed. Because of its healthy contents, Coconut water is in demand drink today. As a matter of fact, Philippines tied up with the United Coconut Associations of the Philippines Inc. or UCAP and will start exporting coconut water by January 2011 to the United States.
According to UCAP, the joint venture between Pepsi Cola and Peter Paul Coconut Water Corp. has an available processing plant in Candelaria, Quezon that cost an approximately P79 million which has a processing capacity of 21.25 million liters per year. The 100 percent outputs will definitely be shipped to the US.
